Figuring Out How To Blog About Technology

By Keeley Finken

Have you always been intimidated by the prospect to online blogging? Though it can seem like an overwhelming thing to accomplish, anyone can learn to create blogs that inform and entertain website visitors. Take some advice here from those who have experience in what works and what doesn't. You'll soon be on your way to being an expert blogger.

Use tags correctly. Tags let you categorize your posts into different categories, which can then be searched by readers. Each of your posts should have two or three tags. Make sure you use the same words for similar posts (don't have a "bikes" and "biking" tag, for example), and don't give posts too many tags, as this tends to clutter up categories.

When you are starting to blog, it is important that you never give up. You are not going to get a lot of readers your first day, and even your first week, and that is okay. Just keep writing what you are passionate about, and the readers will come to you.

Ensure that you are posting very often in the blogs that you operate. At the minimum, you should aim to post one time on each blog every single day during the weekdays. Of course, posting more is always welcome. This shows your visitors that you are a very active blogger, which will make them more prone to keep visiting your blogs.

Utilize Twitterfeed in order to increase the interest of your most current posts in Twitter. Having said that, you should ensure that you don't simply use Twitterfeed. Being an actual person on Twitter is the first thing that you should do above all else. Otherwise, Twitterfeed will not help you.

Set goals for your blog. Having set goals that you want to achieve will go along way towards increasing your productivity. Decide how many posts you want to make in a given week. Determine what your focus is going to be and what keywords you are going to be targeting. Taking the time to work out your goals, will keep you on focus and blogging productively.

Take the time to read the feedback from your readers, and as you respond to it be sure to take a step back so that your responses do not get too emotional on touchy subjects. Whatever the subject is, there will always be people who criticize. Expand upon constructive criticism to improve future blog postings. Negative criticism should just be answered then ignored. By doing this, you will show your readers that you know how to take the high road and build their respect, as well as your readership.

Decrease your clutter! Blog readers are not interested in overwhelming amounts of unnecessary or unrelated distractions on your page. This draws the attention away from the primary focus of the blog; your writing. In the interest of keeping readers, keep the clutter to a minimum and live by that rule.

No matter the blog type you want to create, the tips from this article have provided you with ideas that you can use towards maintaing a successful blog. Just be sure to apply all of what you learned from this article to the best of your ability and you should have many people following your blog before you know it.
