A Summary Of The Functions Of The T-Con D50ud1 In LCD TVs

By Dorothy Anderson

Traditionally, television sets did not contain anything more than a tube covered in knobs, a scanner, wood, wires, fuses and of course, a set antennas. Technology has advanced greatly over the years and currently, even television technology is more complicated. The tasks of TV repair specialists are currently more intricate than ever, especially when addressing concerns with the T-Con D50ud1 in LCD TVs.

When the back of a modern television set is opened, you will find a power supply module or board. This will be found on the right side of the unit. The module or board in question is the heaviest and largest of all other boards on the back of the unit. The function of this module is to convert the alternating current into direct current.

The movements of direct current are in one direction. This circuit type is used only on LCD television sets. Your television model will dictate whether or not the inverter module and the power supply board will be combined. In case your unit is not receiving any power or the power it is receiving is irregular, you may first want to check the power supply board for issues of concern.

On your panel, the smallest board you can find is the T-Con d50u-D1 also called the timing control module. It is the only board that is enclosed in a shield and you can only find it in LCD television sets. Its work is to control the TFT screen, circuit and film transistor. Any time the T-con is damaged, there will be no display, you will see double images, a white screen or either horizontal or vertical lines.

At the back of your unit, along the edges, you will find the inverter boards. Again, such boards are only present in LCD televisions and their work is to turn low voltage direct current from the switched mode power supply into high voltage alternate current. This powers the backlights. In case you have a dim screen or no display, it could be that the inverter board needs fixing.

The main module goes by various names including the digital board, motherboard and logical board. Attached to it are the audio, video and other outputs. It is the motherboard that creates digital signals from analog signals. This means that your digital board is to blame in case of color or sound problems.

The audio receiving module or the jackpack is not attached to the digital board. It is separate and it plays the role of transmitting sound signals to the amplifier, processor and then to speakers located either side of a TV. Sound problems and a concern allied with channels changing at random are often caused by a faulty jackpack.

Top quality television accessories are not easy to find. This is more so the case if you want to benefit from cheaper deals and make your purchase from an online store. When shopping for parts as delicate as the T-con d50u-D1, you must work with a reputable dealer and also make sure that you get a reasonable product warranty.
